FlightDeck Feeder Network Privacy Policy and Terms
Effective as of August 8, 2026
Operator: JAC LLC, Kansas, USA ("FlightDeck," "we," "us"). Contact: jad@tryflightdeck.com
1. Scope
This notice covers anyone who operates a receiver and feeds data to FlightDeck's aggregation network, including ADS-B and Mode S traffic sent to feed.tryflightdeck.com, ACARS and VDL2 messages sent to acars.tryflightdeck.com, ATC audio sent to atc.tryflightdeck.com, and any related endpoint we operate for this purpose. It applies the same way regardless of which of these you feed us.
If you are a user of the FlightDeck iOS app rather than a feeder, that relationship is covered separately by the FlightDeck App Privacy Policy at tryflightdeck.com/privacy.
2. Information We Collect
Aircraft and airspace data. The messages your receiver decodes and forwards to us: ICAO hex, callsign, position, altitude, velocity, and squawk from ADS-B and Mode S; message content from ACARS and VDL2; and audio from ATC frequencies where you feed that. This is information about aircraft and airspace, not about you personally.
Station data. Your receiver's position (latitude, longitude, altitude), which MLAT requires to function. A feeder UUID assigned to your station, and a station name if you choose to set one. Connection and session data, including your IP address, connection timestamps, message counts, uptime, and the version of the feeder software you run.
Account data, if you register one. An email address, used to identify your station, communicate with you about your feed, and administer any feeder rewards you're eligible for.
We do not collect your legal name, mailing address, or payment information through the feeder network, and we do not collect anything about your local network, other devices on it, or anything your receiver picks up outside of aircraft and airspace transmissions.
3. How We Use This Information
We use the information above to combine feeds from every station into a single aggregate picture of aircraft and airspace activity for FlightDeck's products and services, to solve multilateration, to detect spoofed or abusive feeds, to plan capacity and debug the network, to display coverage and station statistics, and to communicate with you about your station if we have your email address.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Where applicable law requires a stated legal basis, we rely on legitimate interest for receiver position and connection data, since accurate MLAT and network operation cannot function without it, and on your consent for anything optional, such as providing an email address. You may object to processing based on legitimate interest at any time; if you do, we will stop processing that data and remove your station from the network, since the two cannot be separated.
5. What Is Made Public
We publish aggregate coverage maps showing overall network reach, and, if you set one, your station name. We do not publish your receiver position, exact or approximate, nor your IP address, UUID, or email address. No public map, leaderboard, or statistic reveals where any individual station is located.
6. Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell station data. We use infrastructure providers, currently including DigitalOcean for hosting, to operate the network, and share only what is necessary for them to provide that service. Aggregate aircraft, ACARS, and coverage data, with all station-identifying information removed, may be used in commercial FlightDeck products and shared with commercial or aviation-industry partners.
FlightDeck's feeder network accepts stations from around the world, and the aggregated data it produces is used in products and shared with partners across a number of jurisdictions, including the United States.
7. Commercial Use
FlightDeck is a paid commercial product. Data your station forwards is aggregated and used across that product, including in paid subscription features. Feeding is voluntary and is not compensated except through whatever feeder rewards program we may offer at the time.
8. Retention
Aircraft, ACARS, and ATC audio data is retained permanently as part of FlightDeck's historical archive once merged into aggregate data, and is not removed if you later stop feeding.
Station data, including your IP address, position, and connection logs, is retained for as long as necessary for network operation, security, and abuse prevention. You may request deletion of your station's identifying data at any time as described in Section 10; this removes your position, UUID, IP, name, and email going forward, but does not retroactively alter aggregate historical data your station already contributed to.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect station data. No system connected to the internet can be guaranteed fully secure, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur. Where required by applicable law, we will notify affected feeders in the event of a breach involving their data.
10. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your station's identifying data, or object to its processing, by emailing jad@tryflightdeck.com with your feeder UUID or station name. We will respond within 30 days. Deletion removes your position, UUID, IP address, station name, and email from our active systems; it does not remove your station's historical contribution from FlightDeck's aggregate archive, which is retained as described in Section 8.
11. Your Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the legality of receiving and forwarding the data you send us from your location. Laws governing the reception and redistribution of aeronautical transmissions vary by country, and ACARS and ATC voice are restricted or prohibited in some jurisdictions where ADS-B reception is not. It is your responsibility to know and follow the law that applies where your receiver is located. We do not review, verify, or monitor the legality of any individual feed, and accepting your connection is not a representation by us that feeding is lawful where you are. If you are uncertain, do not feed that data type.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless JAC LLC and its officers and agents from any claim, penalty, loss, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from data you forward to us in violation of applicable law or these terms.
By feeding data to us, you grant JAC LLC a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, aggregate, and create derivative works from the data you forward, including in commercial products.
We may decline or terminate any feed at any time, for any reason, without notice.
12. Children
The feeder network is not directed to individuals under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
13. Changes to This Notice
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date and, where we have your email address, communicated to you at least 14 days in advance.
